Thanksgiving 2015

Thanksgiving was a nice time with family. We spent time in Houston with Jen's family and some time in Dallas with the Mathis family.

Dressing Up!

Kyla sure likes to dress up and be silly! She also enjoys putting on "makeup" and splashing in the puddles. Her school had a Noah's Ark parade, so Kyla dressed up as a bunny. For Halloween, she insisted on being a minion, even though she had not seen any of the minion movies. We had fun at our neighborhood Halloween festival and then going door to door with a friend from the neighborhood.

Fall Fun--And It's Still 90 Degrees

Despite the still-warm weather, we have fully embraced fall. We have lots of fun events still in the future for this enjoyable season. But here's a few pics from what we have enjoyed so far. From the park to painting Olaf, to a fun day with Aunt Debbie at Heritage Farmstead (where Kyla really enjoyed the mule wagon ride and learning to weave with a docent) and an exciting experience feeding the animals, getting "lost"in the hay maze, and picking a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch--we've made the most of Texas autumn.

We're Now Soccer Mom and Dad

Well, kind of. Kyla started a soccer class this month, where a coach teaches the 3 and 4 year olds about soccer and practices various drills. Kyla was very excited, and paid attention to the coach very well. It'll be fun to see if she continues to enjoy it and if she wants to play on a real team in the spring.

Fun Week at School

This week was big for Kyla. She got to be the line leader, have dad come to class for Donuts with Dad, got awarded the Techno Monkey award from computer class (which also involves its own song), and got to be the Chapel Angel, which means she brought the Joy bag home to show us what she's learning in Chapel. Her favorite part of the Joy bag was listening to the music on the included CD. She loved singing loudly in the car to the songs!

New School Year, Even More Fun

The new school year started off with another year of ballet class, this time in class without mom. Kyla is enjoying it. Here's a video of her showing the passe move.

This year Kyla gets to go to school 2 days a week, and has liked it so much she often doesn't want to leave school to go home. She gets to go to computer class and does math, along with Romp and chapel. She is loving her sweet teachers, Miss Janet, Miss Pauline, and Miss Brandi. A new activity for Kyla this year is Cubbies at church, which is on Wednesday nights. It's a great program where she learns more about Jesus' love for her. They memorize a lot of verses--basically a new one each week, which has been a good habit for mom and dad to get involved in too.

Big Girl Summer

Well July was full of fun with the neighborhood July 4th parade with Jasmine, a family trip to Austin, a Princess Dance Camp--where Kyla did tap, ballet, and jazz for 4 days--and a trip to the beach to visit GranJan and GranDad. We all had a blast, and Kyla seemed to grow up even more with each new event.
